Holiday Instagram Moments
Can somebody please explain to me, how is it that Holiday’s seem like a distant hazy memory within milliseconds of landing home? Looking through these photos, it felt like I was peering into somebody else’s life, as if it wasn’t me lying on that beach or meandering through cobbled streets. Rested to stressed. Ugh.
left to right: beach food and book (How to be a Woman/Caitlin Moran), beer book and betty (The Magic of Reality/Richard Dawkins), cobbled streets in Oia, bikini girl, self catered breakfast, cocktails at Dorians, book worm, bells on the hill, gorgeous gates.
If I haven’t said it before, let me say it now, Santorini is stunning. There are very few places in the world that we’ve fallen so completely in love with but this is one of them. I was even imagining what it would be like to live here but we decided a holiday home would suffice – y’know, when we’ve earned our millions and all that.
left to right: the sweetest greek cat, holiday wardrobe, enjoying the breeze, greek gates, a quiet stroll through Oia, apartment view, the perfect lunch, pillars, time stands still in santorini
I hope I was able to capture some of its beauty with these instagram images. I know, I know, there are way too many but I couldn’t wittle them down anymore – and there are more! Don’t worry though, I shall spare you with this one off post;) We opted to leave the DSLR’s at home because I just wanted a break from it all plus we didn’t want to worry about them.
from left to right: another day at the beach comes to an end, us, clean sheets, iced soya freddo, holiday girl, santorini mag, tranquilo – best bar in perissa, washing line, strawberry sorbet and iced espresso
We did take a waterproof disposable camera though, which we haven’t developed yet. It got me thinking about how we used to take photos (say ‘cheese!’). There was no immediate view, delete, try again back in the day and there’s something really sad about that I feel. In fact, I’m sorely tempted to buy a film camera – it might be what I need to improve my photography skills. That and an actual course! For now though, I’ll make do with instagram, disposable kodaks and reliving holiday moments on my blog.

Oh! It looks lovely! My favorite pics are the 3rd one, the cat and “holiday girl”!

It was so beautiful – honestly one of the best holidays we’ve had. Would love to go back even for a long weekend. Glad you like the pics – the cat is my favourite too:)
Truly beautiful pictures, lovely and relaxing story, what a nice holiday!
Thank you so much! Really pleased you liked it:) Yes, it was wonderful – cannot wait to get back at some point, it is a truly beautiful Island.
What beautiful beautiful photos, they certainly look dslr quality!
It makes me so excited for my travels around Greek islands in a few weeks…utterly blissful.
Wonder what you though of Caitlin Moran’s book- I absolutely loved it. Laugh out loud funny
Haha, yes, I thought the book was brilliant – I kept reading passages aloud much to my Husband’s dismay…although I think he secretly liked it;) You lucky thing getting to travel around the Greek Islands! More and more I am coming to the conclusion they are the gems of Europe and the Greeks are such lovely people too. Thanks for the compliment on my photos, that means a lot to me:)
