Pretty Print Love

It’s been a hell of a couple of weeks. Stuff is happening right now that I could not be more excited about but I’ll wait a little longer before revealing the details – hope you don’t mind? I’m officially feeling positive, which is a relief. Being a self confessed worry wart, I have spent not an insignificant amount of time wondering how I can progress any further in this industry. Fashion is not an easy career path, whether it be fashion journalism, styling or whatever avenue you are trying to pursue. To put it mildly, it’s damned hard and even more competitive. Most definitely not for the faint hearted.

Being a glutton for punishment though, I am continuing in my pursuit for some sort of fashion career and for now I seem to be making headway. Delighted, terrified but oh so up for it.

This week has also been a weird one because I’m missing my other half. I was supposed to have joined Hubby on this Romania trip he is currently away on – it’s a work thing, not a holiday thing. We’d agreed to do it a while back; I would write an article, he would make a short film. But when an opportunity arose to interview for an internship that I quite happily would’ve given my right arm for, I decided to forfeit the trip – I was not letting this opportunity slip through my fingers!

Thankfully it was worth it.

In Hubby’s absence I haven’t been too lonely because my Sister (and Best Friend) came back from her American vacation, which means we’ve been doing some major hanging out. It’s actually been so great to properly reconnect after not seeing each other for several weeks. Not only that but she brought me back some American goodies that both her and Mum had picked out for me – this cute parasol print top being just one of them. Can you say spoilt rotten?

Obviously with Hubby being away I had to rely on my Sister to take my photos and I think she did really well, don’t you? I also love this print combo. Hearts and parasols! This vintage skirt is one of my absolute wardrobe favs and currently I’m digging pairing it with prints, especially my Uniqlo ‘designer’ printed tees….Orla Kiely and Lulu Guinness. Yep, still obsessed with those collaborations.

what i’m wearing…lemon vest/G.H. Bass & CO.   vintage red heart print skirt/Steckfensters, Penzance   recycled printed scarf/Lush   green sandals/Dorothy Perkins

Oooh, and if any of my recipe readers are still awaiting a new food post, I have a super one planned for tomorrow. A refreshing, sweet and ‘creamy’ drink with a twist…..any guesses what it might be?

Thanks Alex:) I’ve been wearing this scarf sooo much – it brightens up any outfit in the best possible way. I really want a new pair of sunnies though, kinda sick of these but summer is almost over so it seems silly to invest in some now….x
